Antipast is a collection of socks, accessories, and knitwear designed and produced in Japan. Founded in 1992 by textile designers Junko Jinushi and Kyoko Kato, Antipast pieces are wildly creative, fun, and exquisitely produced with the finest materials. Through their narrative designs and bold use of color and texture, their designs bring a sense of joy and whimsy to the wearer. Antipast is intended to stimulate one's appetite for fashion much like the Italian 'antipasto' dish does ahead of the main meal. The name also alludes to a desire to move forward, 'anti-past'.
