Repetto has a vibrant legacy merging ballet and fashion since first opening shop in 1947 on the Rue de paix in Paris. By the mid-1960’s the company had developed its eponymous Repetto label and has since aligned itself as one of the premier ateliers, securing iconic collaborations in more recent years with likes of Issey Miyake and Comme des Garçon.
In the tradition of applying progressive ideas with beautiful products, Repetto has expanded its operations in the US by opening a dance studio on the second floor of 541 West 25th Street in New York. The label commenced this new venture by inviting dancers, artists, and other creatives to participate in free ballet lessons. It's definitely worth checking out!
Over here on the West coast, Repetto has partnered with GRLSWIRL. An all-girl skate crew, founded by former dancer Lucy Jean, which aims to “bring femininity” to the typically male-dominated world of skateboarding that we massively advocate over here at Mona Moore. Repetto and GRLSWIRL collaborated through a beautiful video editorial focused on ballet, fashion, and skateboarding filmed right here in Venice.
